Tanzania Government On Technology Innovation

Tanzania government said it recognizes the importance and contribution of innovation and technology in facilitating and enhancing the effectiveness of various economic activities.

Speaking to reporters in Dodoma about the start of the National Science, Technology and Innovation (MAKISATU) 2020 National Competition, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technology, William Ole Nasha said the tournament was one of the Government’s strategies to visually, identify and to develop the innovations and discoveries made by Tanzanians.

“The main goal of MAKISATU as well as to promote and help innovate, is provide an opportunity for designers and innovators of various technologies to express themselves and to publicize the innovations generated,” emphasized Ole Nasha.

Ole Nasha said MAKISATU focuses on designers from primary, secondary, technical, colleges, middle schools, colleges, universities, research institutes and the informal system.

He added that through MAKISATU 2019 the government has unveiled and recognized more than 415 young designers while 60 advanced designers are being developed to get their creativity to a new level.

The leader has called on Tanzanians of various abilities to take part in the competition and has thanked CRDB Bank for agreeing to sponsor the tournament.

And the Director-General of the Consumer General of the CRDB, Prosper Nambaya said the Bank has decided to have a long-term partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to help foster innovation in the country due to the presence of many creative people who have to develop.
